When we created Rockydirect.com we wanted to ensure that security was our first priority.  Using the latest encryption techniques we have created a shopping environment which protects you and your personal information.

What information do we collect and why?

• When placing an order, we ask you to provide your name, mailing address, credit card number with expiration date, telephone number and email address. This information allows us to process and ship your order.  If any of this information is missing we may not be able to process your order or contact you should any problems arise.
  

• There are several steps to our checkout process. You will be asked for your personal information, as mentioned above, and then given the option to review it to ensure there are no mistakes.  Our entire checkout is protected using proven digital security measures.  

Is Your Credit Card Secure?

There are two important factors in securing an online purchase.

1) Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology

While you are in the RockyDirect.com checkout you will notice that a gold pad lock will appear in your browser.  The lock will look something like this:

You will also notice that the url will start with "https" instead of "http".  The addition of the letter "s" in the url and the gold lock symbol are the two signs that tell you the site you are shopping on uses the latest SSL encryption techniques to protect your information from others.

Email is not a secure method to order or transmit sensitive information.  When dealing with our company or any other company on the Internet never send your credit card or other sensitive information via email.

Once we have securely received your information we store it in a protected level of our network.  Our network is protect with both a firewall and password access security.  This allows us to keep all customer information confidential and secure from intruders.  

Processing your credit card is also very important.  To ensure your information remains secure CyberCash digital transaction processing handles all of our orders.  CyberCash recently joined force with VeriSign. VeriSign is a leading provider of trusted infrastructure services online. 

All the secure information that is entered on our site is protected by Thawte Security SSL certificates.  These measures ensure that your information is secure throughout our entire checkout procedure.  Look for the logo below in the checkout.  If you click on the logo during the checkout procedure it will tell you the status of our security certificates.

Email Addresses and Mailing Lists

• When you place your first order with us or when requesting a catalogue, your information will be added to our secure customer database.
  

• All our customer information is stored in our secure file system. 
  

• eFlyer and email list are treated the same as our physical customer database. You are not automatically entered into our email list.  While placing your order you are given the option to choose if you want to be added to our email list or not.  If you choose "no", your email is stored only in your customer file.  
  

• We do not sell any of our email lists and do not send you any third party advertising.  Our email lists are used only to inform you of products we carry and specials that we believe may interest you.
